week 2 with a fuckton to do!

well.
nearly a week into my own artist schedule and i'm overwhelmed but handling it like a fucking champ. i finished the crow triptych for todd (thanks, todd xo) and i'm working on the lil lady rikku portrait still.
i feel shaken by doubt, yet extremely determined.
i've learned a few things this week:

• $100 portraits were a ridiculous (good?) idea and after these sets are done, i'm bumping the price up indefinitely. i thought i could whip these out without much care--but...it turns out... I CARE and caring is expensive.
  
• if i don't get to paint first thing in the morning I have a hard time painting in the afternoon. I've let my self-made schedule vary this week--get up early to paint/sleep in and paint/work into the night.  if i don't caffeinate, shit, and immediately paint (in that exact order), i'm hard pressed to give a crap after 4pm. 
• after 7 days straight of painting in ze art cave, a deep clean is necessary. i can be a bit of a slob. 
• being a working artist gives me heart burn <<stress>>
  
• headphones, goggles, and a dust mask are things that make my face sweat while sanding and i hate them.
  
• i'm making things that people will buy from me whether i know who or what now or not.
  
• i own more clothes covered in paint than not covered in paint. seriously. i could dump out the contents of my drawers and toss that shit cuz... if it doesn't have paint on it, i won't wear it. apparently.
  
• this blog helps me feel organized--even if nobody reads it.
• i enjoy mackelmore. there. i said it.
  
• some of the best things about working from home are (in no particular order): being with my dogs all day, overdosing on social media, not showering, not wearing a bra, singing as loud as i want, and going to bed before 9pm. 
  
• i'm pretty blessed.
