i'm up to my butt in carnival. actually, up to my ears. this is a fun project, but sheesh... i'm burnt out. if i don't see another delightful red and white circus-flare burst ever again... it'd be okay.
deadline is looming (july 12th) and i'm ready to get this stuff outta my space so i can move onto something new. throughout this large scale project i've been working out of the generator, a free arts-oriented community warehouse deep in the confines of industrial sparks, nevada. complete with burning man projects, art cars, solo creators, welders, carpenters... and... whomever else decides to show up to make shit with his or her time. it's been a real challenge for me to climb out of my home art cave and work in the public eye. a) i'm glad it's almost over b) i'm sorry to see this phase end in other news, i don't want to be a sponsored artist. i don't quite need artown up in my business. i don't quite need sierra arts' money. i've carved out a nice slice of life for myself and every inch of it feels built on by my own two hands, my own minutes of the day, and for my own enjoyment. (makes mallory a happy girl)
